With Savoia, London-based studio Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby makes its debut for Kartell, bringing decades of research into materials, technology and form together in a single design gesture.
The result is a chair with an exceptionally slim profile in polished die-cast aluminium, paired with seats available in wood, leather or high-quality recycled technopolymer.

Colors & Materials

Savoia plays with the contrast between materials: the polished, slender die-cast aluminium frame meets seats with a softer tactile quality — wood, leather or high-quality recycled technopolymer. A combination that minimises the use of plastic while remaining true to Kartell’s values of lightness, colour and formal clarity. The colour palette ranges from natural and neutral tones to bolder shades, designed to work equally well in residential interiors and contract projects.

Inspirations

Edward Barber

Jay Osgerby

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their studio in London in 1996, after meeting while studying architecture at the Royal College of Art. Their work spans furniture, lighting, product design and art, with an approach rooted in experimentation and a close relationship with industrial processes. Both Royal Designers for Industry, they have works in the permanent collections of the V&A, the Metropolitan Museum, the Design Museum in London, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Vitra Design Museum. With Savoia, they make their debut for Kartell.
