Kartell opens a new flagship store located in the prestigious Jing’an District, at No. 688 Changde Road, in the beating heart of Shanghai, one of the most innovative and dynamic cities in the world. The opening of this new store strengthens the brand’s presence in the eastern area.

The Jing’an District, a nerve center of culture, business and design, represents one of the most cosmopolitan and evolving areas of the metropolis. Historically recognized for its unique mix of tradition and modernity, today Jing’an is a symbol of Chinese urban transformation, as well as a point of reference for international brands, art galleries, creative studios and avant-garde architecture.

With this opening, Kartell consolidates its distribution network in China, which today has over 8 single-brand and 15 shop-in-shop stores, distributed in the country's main cities, including Shenzhen, Xian and Taizhou.

The new store is conceived as a 322 m2 experiential space in which visitors can fully immerse themselves in the Kartell universe. The brand’s great classics blend with the most recent collections, creating a fluid environment where aesthetics, innovation and sustainability meet.

With the opening in Shanghai, Kartell inaugurates a space that not only represents its commercial identity, but a physical manifesto of the brand’s values. A new home for Kartell design that looks to the future with passion, innovation and a strongly made in Italy identity.

On the occasion of the opening, two artists will create an exclusive work of art inspired by the theme "Kartell loves Shanghai". The sign painter Huaihai Signs will personalize the writings on the modular units, reinterpreting them with his iconic style that combines tradition and modernity. In parallel, the artist PK will create an original illustration, designed specifically to celebrate the event and pay homage to the meeting between local creativity and Italian design.
