Mademoiselle

Transparency and comfort together

Furniture Fair 2004

An innovative chair project, designed by Philippe Starck, with a skillful and innovative combination of two different plastic and finishing materials: the clear polycarbonate frame offers solid support for a soft seat.

Soft and comfortable plastic, without giving up the glamour of transparency and colour!

The in-depth technologies and production processes, combined with the meticulous analyses of the structural properties and compatibilities between plastic materials – both functional and formal – led Kartell to speculate, for this new chair, about combining two different plastic materials which were seemingly “foreign” to one another: polycarbonate and polyurethane.

Mademoiselle therefore pairs, through an innovative solution, transparency and softness, aesthetics and comfort, a refined look and durable functionality. The polyurethane chair is offered in two versions, and is affixed to a clear polycarbonate support base.

A new elegant offering for the design sector – perfect both for residential use (in any domestic space) or supplied by Contract (such as office chairs, conference rooms, meeting rooms, restaurants and bars.)
