Kartell’s Piuma chair selected for the Annual ADI Design Index 2017
The Piuma chair by Kartell has been selected for the Annual ADI Design Index 2017, an acknowledgement that marks the first step towards participation in the prestigious international award, Compasso d’Oro 2018. Piuma has been included in the Exhibition associated with ADI Design Index 2017 due to touch down in Milan and Rome.
Piuma by Piero Lissoni is one of the boldest and most revolutionary products in the repertoire of technologies and materials used by Kartell. Behind the pared-down design of Piuma lie three years of intensive research to implement the use of an unprecedented mix: a carbon-reinforced thermoplastic polymer compound that confers great mechanical strength combined with an impressive lightness. The resulting ultra light chair weighs a mere 2.4 kg and is just a few millimetres thick.
The itinerant exhibition of ADI Design Index 2017 has been inaugurated in Milan at the Museum of Science and Technology and will run from 10 to 17 October, while in Rome it will be hosted by the Casa dell’Architettura Acquario Romano from 26 October to 8 November.
