Kartell and Dolce&Gabbana
Kartell opens its Museo to two designers
On 13 April, 2004 there was a very successful cocktail party to launch the exhibit “50’s, 70’s as today,” organized to present an original pair – Kartell and Dolce&Gabanna. An original and unique layout with a play on three shades – white, black and red, with 30 historical pieces from the Kartell Museum chosen by two stylists and distributed amongst three levels at the Corso Venezia store. We’ve always liked Kartell for its intelligent design, colours and versatility. It was exciting to be able to choose objects in the museum which even today we’d like to have in our homes, recognizing ourselves in the marked irony that even now sets it apart, and finding ourselves in the masterful skill of the most famous designers of all time. Design, style and irony: we feel these are the salient and distinctive characteristics that make Kartell & Gabbana a perfect team! That same night, the Bourgie lamp designed by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell was debuted as a super-sneak preview.
