Plastic is increasingly... an object of Desire

Events, June 16, 2007
Kartell in Monterrey

Precious materials, gold and diamonds.
At the 5th edition of Designer’s Day in Paris dedicated to the theme of desire, Kartell presented, at its flagstore at 242 Boulevard Saint Germain, an aesthetic path to daring and anti-conformist luxury.
The new display by Ferruccio Laviani gave free rein to creativity through a journey amongst luxurious materials.
Philippe Starck’s Mademoiselle chair was upholstered with printed crocodile skin especially for the occasion. Ferruccio Laviani’s Bourgie lamp, in the luxury 24-carat gold-plated version, represents gold along with the fun, original Gnomi!
Marcel Wanders’ Stone stools, Patrick Jouin’s Optic containers and Philippe Starck’s TopTop tables symbolise precious stones.
Precious materials, pure gold bars and diamonds of light guide the onlooker on a journey to discover design objects of desire…
