The star of Cologne 2003 is the new Trays system designed by Piero Lissoni. The concept for the layout is inspired by alternating black and white colours. The architectural idea for the project is a variation on side tables and shelves whose surfaces recall, in their design and finishings, Japanese lacquered trays. The surfaces, done in a refined full methacrylate, in shiny black and white, are offered in three standard measurements and set upon frames of various heights, stationary or on wheels. The overall design of the collection suggests the idea of lightness and elegance, while preserving stability and resistance. The surfaces may be white or black and the frame is in chromate steel.
