Barbie house furniture by Kartell
Auctioned by Sotheby’s in Florence
After months of waiting, the miniature pieces Kartell created for Barbie’s “dream house”, presented last April at Milan’s Salone del Mobile, have finally been auctioned. In Florence, at the Sala dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, Sotheby’s sold the collection of iconic pieces designed by international brands to celebrate Barbie’s 50th birthday. Proceeds from the sale go to the Save the Children charity.
Among the most popular pieces were five boxes, each representing a decade, containing the “toy-size” Kartell pieces chosen by Barbie to furnish her house: the Bourgie lamp by Ferruccio Laviani, the Louis Ghost chair and Top Top table by Philippe Starck.
Barbie Style Louis and Lou Lou Ghost are on sale at all Kartell stores.
